Get Married, Live Debt Free

Getting married means that you are going to share your life with another person. In addition to your personal life, you will also be sharing finances. This is something that many people forget about before they get married. If your finances are perfect, but your spouses are less than desirable, this may pose a problem. Of course, it is no reason to call off the marriage, but it is something to think about.

After getting married, it should be your goal to live debt free. This is not to say that you should forgo purchasing a house or other essentials, but you want to avoid running up a large amount of credit card debt. In other words, stay away from unnecessary debt after you get married. Remember, you are going to have enough to deal with; you do not want to add a high level of debt to the picture. If you do, you could put an extreme amount of stress on your marriage from day one.

Living debt free is easier than it sounds. But as you know, there are millions of people who are successfully doing so. If either you or your new spouse needs help in the financial department, seeing a professional can go a long way.

Overall, getting married is a great time in anybody's life. Make sure that you are aware of your new spouse's finances, and then work to ensure that they align with your views. Of course, the same thing works in reverse. A marriage is a personal partnership, and in most cases, a financial one as well.
